When I started this blog, I thought we well on our way to an independent Scotland. Coming off the back of the 2014 referendum in which the people took the support from 25% to 45%. I thought it was only a matter of time before we would be in full campaign mode. When I came up with the ‘free by twenty-three tagline I thought it would take that long to recover. Never for a minute did I think that the independence bus upon which I travelled was going to be highjacked by a party whom I had put my trust in. Not for one single solitary second did I think we would be this far from independence. 2015 and 2016, I watched Nicola Sturgeon waste mandate after mandate. I was so disheartened that I deleted my old blog and promised myself that I would not waste one more minute on trying to free Scotland, that lasted all of three months as I was back in February 2017. As you can see from this blog, I have gone from being a supporter of Sturgeon and her cabal to not supporting them. We are even further from independence, so much so that I am contemplating renaming the tagline free by thirty-three but that may be just a bit too much for some.
Scotland has become unrecognisable under the Scottish National Party, so much so that I am fearful of the future, I have never seen such an attack on our rights and freedoms, in particular our freedom of speech and our freedom of expression. It would be easy to give up and let someone else take the reins but what good would that do. I value those hard won right and freedoms and I am damned if I will give them up so easily.
Thank you for reading.
