When I named this blog, it was in the belief, we would have to take a detour but would eventually stray back onto the path of independence. That has not happened, the detour turned out to be a mystery where no one knew the destination taken or when we would get there. All we knew was that we were being taken as far away from the independence road as possible.
It has been almost ten years since the people of Scotland gave Westminster one more chance. 2015 should have galvanised the fifty-six to settle up. They were sent down to London with the hopes and aspirations of those in the yes movement who marvelled at the childish antics, but soon became disillusioned as they watched most of the 56 settled down to Westminster rule, their noses on the troths nourishing themselves on the hopes and aspirations given to them by those they profess to represent. Independence mandate shelved, only to be brought out when votes were needed.
Year upon year I watched the independence movement loose heart, the flags carried at half-mast for those who finally put their feet up and drifted into a deep slumber, never to see their dream realised. I have seen stalwarts of the movement, feather their nest, their ambition for a nation gone; a parcel of rogues if ever there was one. Taking for granted the votes of those who put faith in them and now they are off to pastures new, or do they have their eyes on a new prize, Holyrood. Are those who have decided not to stand for Westminster doing it for the right reasons, going quietly into the night having achieved nothing, or do they believe their once gained popularity will see them sale into Holyrood no questions asked. Well let us hope not.
Talking of Holyrood, where the Scottish National Party have gone from hero to zero, destroyed from within, taking over by misguided fools. A parcel of rogues in a nation. I lay the blame for the downfall squarely on the shoulders of Ex First Minster Nicola Sturgeon and the woke brigade of Harvie and co. Neither have any interest in Scotland or her people. Not only have they broken the Scottish National Party beyond repair but have tried to destroy an entire nation. Some of whom don’t even know they’ve been destroyed. We still have the Sturgeon faithful who to this day think Nico-lie can do no wrong, who blame Westminster and the wider yes movement for everything that is going on in the SNP camp. Perhaps if they had not blindly followed a party who were leading them up the garden path only to lead them down again, perhaps if they hadn’t taken their eye of the ball, they would see that the problem the SNP have does not lie with Alex Salmond or Alba. It lies with the hierarchy of the party who took members for fools and continue to do so. How long this will continue, who knows, how long for a fool to realise he’s been had. SNP members and supporters are at a crossroads, do they continue to flog a dead horse, or do they say enough is enough, we need change now. The new SNP don’t want independence, they just bring out the independence carrots when votes are needed.
We are at a crossroads, Westminster is flexing its muscles, they have their eyes on everything that Scotland has to offer and will stop at nothing to take it. Only we the people can stop this. Do we get together and say no, or do we stand back and watch every asset go south like it did in Thatcher’s time?
Every day that passes is a day where those who suffer most suffer even more from the Westminster overlords. It is time to come together or get out of the way. The SNP have a choice to make, do they stand with the people or do they continue on the woke path to destruction. If they choose the road to independence there can be no more carrot dangling, no more woke nonsense, all parties that support independence together except the Scottish Greens, who may need not apply.
Welcome back.
Personally, I do not believe that the SNP can be saved from itself, and I am not sure that it should be. The bams who support the advancement of ‘twans’ and other ‘woke’ policies that are doomed to the dustbin, wasting billions along the way, are still there and only a very large and very powerful crowbar will lever them out of their crevices.
If Labour do well in the GE and win, while they advance their vote and seats in Scotland, I might expect the Greens to jump ship, ally with the Lib Dems and all three position and ally themselves to rule as a coalition, sidelining the SNP. Parasites are opportunists, after all.
No movement on the Scotland United ticket appears on the horizon, so no one should expect the SNP to experience a Damascene Conversion before the GE. If they lose heavily, of course, they might well be forced to rethink their position on that, but I doubt it.
The party is chocka with young, inexperienced, ‘woke’ folks in support jobs who have no interest in the constitution of the party, who are wedded to the principle that all females are the devil incarnate and that middle-aged females, in particular, require to be ousted from every nook and cranny.
They blame ‘boomer’ women – men, not so much – for taking their God-given rights to a house of their own, fully-furnished, at 18, for squandering their birthright on baubles such as tampons and menopause hormones and they definitely blame women for every ill that has beset society since they were born. Someone is to blame, after all.
Working-class ‘boomers’ usually stayed at home till they married, were brought up in relative poverty and were lucky enough to be born at a time when education and opportunities opened up to working-class children. The middle-class, of course, voted down all those opportunities for the working-class as unnecessary extravagance when that dear old dame, Thatcher, came to power, and we are where we are.
Still, let us not tell the truth, eh, especially not to the middle-class offspring of the Tory-New Labour-Lib Dem (Tory Lite) axis who are convinced of the mantra, “we wuz robbed!”. They were not, but the working-class kids were, but it is always easier to blame someone else and latch on to victimhood like it is going out of fashion, especially when it was probably your own parents, nice middle-class people, who voted for it.
Ergo, you take the easy way out, as faux do-gooders always do and support the superficial. Independence, reality, responsibility are just too much effort. It is those pesky women again standing in the way of youthful narcissists and older chancers whose free ride courtesy of the SNP is about to be uncoupled and derailed.
